Table is the flat worksheet view. Pivot uses the Rows field well below and keeps viewer changes in the viewer state or selected Tableau parameter.
For background-only column bands, assign the same Column group, turn on Group background, and turn off Group names.
Active row follows the selected cell. Hover row is only the pointer preview.
Defaults apply to numeric fields unless a field defines its own decimals or scale.
Fills the full pivot Total column with the same background as the totals row.
Per-column aggregation is set in the Columns tab.
Cmd/Ctrl+C copies exactly the selected cells. Right-click a selected range to copy it with headers.
Highlight marks uses the dimension values in the clicked row. It is optional because row click can also open local row details.

Select a String parameter if viewer layout changes should travel with Tableau Custom Views. Without a parameter, viewer changes stay local to the browser.

Use this panel only for debugging. Auto is the production path; strategy switches isolate Tableau API reads, while probes collect evidence for CountD, Avg, and full-data issues.
